Today's Aberdeen Fours Head was raced in superb conditions. The huge entry was assisted by the Committee of the Dee's decision to hire in boats from the SARA fleet, and made for an excellent event atmosphere: men's open winners were the Aberdeen BC/Robert Gordon University BC composite, with Aberdeen BC boating the fastest women's crew. Visitors from Glasgow Uni, Dundee Uni and Glasgow Uni Ladies got their rewards with wins in M R1, N Nov, W R2 and W Novice. There will be a link to full results and times late tomorrow. In a rare triumph for domestic rowing, the only sport mentioned on tonight's Grampian TV news headlines was rowing, with a film report on the event: hopefully clubs will be able to make sure their successes are reported in their local papers in the coming week.
