Notes
The event was held (on a Sunday, due to tidal restrictions) in perfect
weather and water conditions. Virtually flat calm and very little
stream. This did mean that it was of doubtful safety to row to our
normal finish point in the first division, so a decision was made to finish
about 200m downstream from the normal line. This should be considered
when viewing times from the first division.
The tide had risen sufficiently in
division 2 to allow the normal course to be run.
In division 2, we also experimented with
setting off the timed crews in advance of the contested events, with a
four-minute gap before the eights started. The decision to organise it
in this fashion was due to some very fast 'time-only' boats. This
seemed to work well but would be harder to implement with a larger entry.
